Hongqi, a brand under the Chinese automaker FAW Group, has been making waves in the luxury electric vehicle (EV) market. Known for producing high-end, technologically advanced vehicles, Hongqi (which means "Red Flag") has positioned itself as a competitor to global luxury brands like Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and BMW, but with a strong focus on Chinese heritage and innovation.

Some people are pretty disappointed about it. I don't know why they say it won't find a place in the EV space. Also, someone was complaining about the level of losing value over time once you buy it. Is that real?

I think it’s all about the perception of Chinese brands—some people still aren't fully on board with them in the luxury space, even if the tech’s solid. As for resale value, it’s tough to say. It really depends on how the market evolves, but historically, some new luxury brands do take a hit when it comes to depreciation.
